I devised my own method of "painting" fur while doing this (to get around having to paint every single piece of fur, which turned out being even more ridiculously time-consuming. But, I'm still thrilled with the result, and plan to make a short tutorial about how I did it.

Again, I like the premise of this very much. I intended for it to just be tender and caring: Zack is unafraid of Versa, despite her curse, and they're willing to protect and love each other no matter what.

SINCE EVERYONE KEEPS ASKING:
The background was mostly photomanipulation, using this stock image. I also used a brush set for the moon, which you can download here. For a person who despises backgrounds, I'm very pleased with this. Though, LOL at my light sources. In the stock, the light was coming from the left, but I could only fit the moon on the right side. Maybe there's some other source of light? :)

So, I hope you all enjoy it... I promise that my upcoming art won't have these two in it. :XD:

Wow, that looks SO much better coloured. I love the fur. Now you're gunna have to tell me how you did that. Great job on the ominous, dark background too. I'm gunna have to fav this one ;)

It looks great done. The coloring on the fur is awesome, please do make a tutorial for it. ^^ The insignia is really pretty, and the whole shebang looks really good.

After looking at it for a bit, though, I think the choice of background is interesting. I think it's successful overall, but having seen the lineart first, I kept assuming there were going to be, like... hearts, flowers, and shojo bubbles?

I don't make any sense. Very successful piece overall! <3

EXCELLENT job on the fur-coloring shortcut. It kind of has the feel of an oil-painting.

And the background looks awesome. Is that a real moon and trees you threw in there?

You should definitely do a tutorial on this....and on the background if possible.

yay! But what are they doing in the woods.
and the light source... may be from their car. I mean, who wants to be stuck in the forest without lights. The car is running and the headlights are pointed at them.

You guys must not read the artist's comments... the background is a stock photomanipulation, and the moon is a brush.

Sorry, I didn't mean that to be rude (everyone keeps asking though ;P). But, I think I'll be doing a tutorial on the fur - the background was mostly playing with levels and setting certain layers to Multiply.

.. weird, I just had deja-vu. Thanks Howlz! =D
