Mark a big fat "best piece for a long time" stamp on this thing, 'cause that's what I'm declaring it.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is likely the prettiest game I've ever played (and I've played Uncharted 3). I couldn't help but be moved by the gorgeous scenery. Better yet, though, are some of the non-player characters. It's no secret that I totally dig Aela the Huntress here, a member of the Companions, and a werewolf, at that.
I love how Skyrim treats werewolves. They look like wolves (imagine that). They have powers that I'd expect werewolves to. And above all, I love Aela's character... she embraces the beast blood she chose to accept. It's a fitting power for a complete badass like her.
Hence, I've been wanting to draw her since I got the game on the day of the midnight release. My PS3 is broken right now, so drawing Skyrim fanart is my best coping method, I guess. I'm overall very satisfied with how Aela turned out, but mostly the background.
This painting was probably 10-12 hours in the making, so I'd appreciate if you comment before you , please. It means so much more. Thank you, and enjoy!
Heh, Skryim fanart I'd say "happy to see I'm not the only one with the game" but admitedly it's already popular enough already that it'd kind of be silly to say such
Still, I'm amused by how Aela seems to be one of the more favored NPC(even amongst people not normally fans of werewolves or such) of those that can join you. And I gotta second the comment on Skyrim's werewolves' design.
Out of curiosity, do you play the PC or console version of the game? Though by the PS3 comment I assume you're playing the console version?
I hate playing games on PCs. Though I've had PCs for a while, I now use a Mac thanks to my future profession and don't care for playing games in general without a console. I know you can mod and stuff, it's just not the same. I grew up on Sega Genesis and original PlayStation; there's no way I'll switch now, especially not with a Mac. And yes, I play on PS3.
Ahh, I can perfectly understand and relate to some level. I'll admit I nonetheless enjoy PC in general, especially due to some of the more independants developpers out there. Chuckle Fish's studio's Starbound is one I have to say has caught my interest, with that promise of a procedural sandbox game... with an actual plot to go with unlike the likes of Minecraft which had you wandering around aimlessly without anything close to a "goal". Plus, the 2D graphics remind me of a lot of the sidescrolling adventure games I enjoyed as a kid back in the 16bits era.

This is the first piece of Skyrim fan art I've seen since the game came out...
I really have two words to describe my feelings towards this picture...
Epically AWESOME!!
I agree too that Skyrim did well with the Werewolves on there. One thing i didn't like was fellow Werewolves turning on you after setting them free. >.<'
Well... that and Aela is my favorite of all the Companions just because she's a badass lol. Anyone that does dis Aela or Werewolves... I've an arrow ready to shoot in their knees lol. (j.k of course )

I do rather like the werewolves. They rock. I think their stories could be explored a little more (the Companions, I mean), since they seem to have interesting histories. Especially Aela. I like the relationship between Farkas and Vilkas, too, and would like to know more about them.
I looove the Skyrim werewolves, there's a werewolf-related quest in Falkreath I love to pieces, perhaps more than the Companion's missions. Check it out if you haven't already! Hail Hircine!
Is that the one with the only other werewolf in the game? I haven't played Skyrim lately because I'm finishing a thesis project for my degree, but I will check that out when I get time again! Thanks!
Yeah probably, if you haven't checked it out, do so, it's so awesome. ANYWAY augh sorry, I freakin love the thick lines in this piece, and Aela's personality was captured perfectly. Waatching!
