This was drawn not too long ago, and it is definitely one of my all time favorite drawings I've completed. I love DCI (Drum Corps International) and the Cavaliers are one of my favorites! So, I looked for some pictures online and found this:

Then I drew it on a 9x12 piece of sketchbook paper with a pencil, inked it with a black pen, and colored it with Prismacolor markers. (I nearly used up the remainder of my Grass Green marker! :o)

The original picture is (C) Charles R. Frey (it says that name at the bottom)

*falls in love with this piece* I played the mellophone (trumpet on steroids that took place of the French Horn) in my marching band. I loved those three years in that band. We did some pretty cool stuff!

Oh, thanks! Yay for band geeks! I'm friends with practically all the mellos in our marching band. I drew a picture of a mellophone player, but just haven't posted it here since it's not done.... :lol:

Yeah, in my band, the mellophone section was pretty much a group of wierdos!

Well, so are the saxes... so I'm a weirdo. And so are the trombones, which is what section I am tranferring to next year.

I guess the band in general is full of weirdos, in most cases. =D
