Artist's Comments

Okay, people, I appreciate the print requests, but pray tell me, how do you expect me to make a PRINT out of an ANIMATION? Place all the frames side by side?! It's not gonna happen, I'm sorry!

Download to view the animation.
:bulletblue: Edit: I used tweening instead of opacity layers!

First things first. This would be nonexistent had I not looked at *Malignant-Librarian's awesome transformation sequence of her character Sylvie. She helped me out a lot with figuring out how to animate the darned thing. Apparently she was inspired by my stationary sequence on Versa's character guide, so I decided to give it a try in motion. Mine is so similar to hers, to please give hers a look to see what inspired mine. ;)

The drawings themselves took me about 2 hours last night because I paid extremely close attention to the proportions and changes each feature was going through. Moderation and scale in the detail was something I focused on - I even made a little template of Versa's head to use as reference as I went along. That's what I'd appreciate critique on: would this be a believable transformation if it could actually happen? (Keep in mind that when Versa undergoes a transformation, she starts off at 5'8", 156 lbs. and ends up 7'6", 300-some lbs.)

I've been dying to do this forever, and it's easier than I thought! So please, enjoy and comment or critique! =D

Not a very believable one. Look at the scale of the final wolf's head compared to Versa's starting "normal human" head. The shape of her face is alright, but the increase in the size of the head is almost ridiculous.

I like this a lot- wish there were more frames.

Thanks for mentioning that. Trying to figure out when to increase the actual size of her head was giving me much difficulty. Now that you've brought it up, I might go back and tweak that when I care to.

I guess maybe it would be more like... well, the only way I can describe it is to compare it to the diminishing marginal product curve, haha, if you know anything about economics. Each value gets larger (in this case; smaller in the curve) at a decreasing rate, as in the size of her head would only start to get larger around the 4th or 5th frame.

Hmm. I might rework that. And thank you. =D I wish there were more frames too, but I didn't have the patience to do all the in-betweens.

Wow! This is by far the most detailed transformation sequence I've ever seen! Very good job!
