Entry 27 of 100 for the 100 Art Themes Challenge (#6, Break Away).
Something came over me as I was doing this. I have no idea what. Something uninhibited, something almost primal... not angry, but just aware. I felt compelled to finish this. Perhaps that's why it turned out to be one of my best pieces to date.
I was originally inspired by this, and then remembered this from a while ago. I didn't really look at either while I was doing this - strangely enough, the only reference I used was for Versa's mouth, a picture I had taken of my friend Chris playing Twister. He had this horrific look on his face, and even though he was laughing, I caught it an instant too soon, which made it look like some alien might pop out of his stomach.
Also, thanks to everyone who helped on the work in progress.
Enjoy. And if not, don't flame me. I couldn't give a shit less if you don't like transformation art.
